Summary of Job Purpose:  
Experian Decision Analytics helps clients achieve sustain significant growth.
The Solution Architect is responsible for the technical architecture of the Business Solutions for our Decision Analytics customers. This role is responsible for ensuring the technical solution design of the solutions and the client’s Infrastructure are designed per requirements and Experian best practices. This role drives technical consultancy with clients and provides best practice recommendation to client ensuring alignment with Experian Product capability.  In addition, this role will also be a Subject Matter Expert (SME) to provide leadership and recommendation in architecture and development of the solution.
Summary of Job Impact & Scope:
  • Work alongside Project Manager, Solution Owner, Technical Consultant and Product Consultant, taking responsibility in understanding the project’s scope and ensuring that project work undertaken does not exceed that scope
  • Manage the technical components of projects and take ownership of the technical architecture not limited to :
    • Hardware sizing
    • Performance optimization
    • Integration methods
  • Provide technical leadership to the team and delivery projects, bridging the gap between business problems and technology solutions.
  • Lead, manage and drive technical workshops internally and with clients through directive consultancy
  • Document technical requirements and ensure the client requirements are met and traceable
  • Ensure all work is of high quality and professionally presented
  • Represent Experian as an honest, knowledgeable and conscientious ambassador of the company
  • Work closely with team mates (internal/external) to resolve technical design challenges preserving Experian best practices
  • Attend and participate in team meetings.
  • Competent administrative skills.
    Application / Software Development & Maintenance
  • Understand the potential and the limitations of information technology and Experian products.
  • Must be able to work with various programming languages, operating systems, and computer hardware platforms.
  • Act as SME between APAC DA Delivery Hub and Experian DA Delivery regions as well as with clients.
  • Supports Project Manager in developing cost analyses, design considerations, and implementation time-lines.
  • Conduct feasibility studies and impact assessment of various solution design approach and/or component
  • Interact with customers and external teams throughout the delivery lifecycle ensuring smooth transition between phases
  • Interact with other team members and/or define the interfaces associated with the solution
  • Keep track of development progress
  • Provide guidance on all technical aspects unit and system testing
  • Takes accountability in leading the respective team in Installation and implementation of new solutions on internal environment and external environment.
  • Ensure quality technical documentation and artefacts
  • Drives improvement initiatives that enhances delivery efficiency. 
  • Co-ordination of client’s acceptance/quality control testing.
  • Monitoring of results to ensure that business requirements are fulfilled.
    Change Management & Compliance
  • Ensure maintenance and development of the delivery team’s collateral e.g. source code, development environments, software, documentation, tools
  • Comply with published standards for coding, testing and documentation and other policies and procedures as laid down under the Delivery Framework
          Sales Process / Product Knowledge
  • Pre-sales software demonstrations and presentations to prospective and existing clients.
  • Completion of assigned pre-sales RFP questionnaire components relating to technical and functional implementation of Experian solutions
  • Provide solution proposals
  • Validate pre-contracted delivery commitments
    Administration / Project Tracking / Project Management
  • Regular reports on work progress and projects to line manager/project manager. 
  • Project status reports to clients and internal management.
  • Timely submission of timesheets, leave forms and other administrative components
    Personal Development
  • Design and progression through own Personal Development Plan following the identification, with line management, of technical or interpersonal skills development needs or lack of client/business knowledge.
    Team Work
  • Demonstrate commitment to achievement of team objectives by identifying and acting on ad-hoc and on-going opportunities for providing support to other team members.
  • Provide coaching and cross training to other staff in order to facilitate an even spread of knowledge and aid in succession planning
  • Mentor and educate other members of the team
  • Drives improvement initiatives that enhance delivery efficiency.
Personal Attributes & Experience:
  • Knowledge of all phases of software development including requirements analysis, design, coding, testing (integration, user, and performance), debugging, implementation, and support
  • Sound knowledge in the application of SDLC process for specific project nature
  • Excellent English oral and written communication skills, able to influence stakeholders.
  • Strong presentation capabilities.
  • Strong organisation skills – ability to handle a dynamic environment.
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • 15 years delivery or solutions experience with at least 8 years experience in a team lead role
  • Ability to travel
  • Strong financial domain background and a minimum 10+ years experience in banking domain preferred
  • Consultative experience and attitude; experience in designing and developing Multi-tier architecture
  • A broad knowledge and understanding of relevant technologies supporting the solutions including but not limited to:
    • Java
    • WebServices/SOA
    • XML and related technologies (XSD, XSL…)
    • Databases  : SQL, Oracle, DB2
    • data integration tools such as ETL (Extract-Transform-Load)
    • Open Source Software (eg Apache, JBOSS, Open LDAP, WireShark, GNU Debugger, Open SSL,..etc)
    • Operating Platform : Linux, Windows, Unix, AS400, Mainframe
  • Experience and ability to lead a project involving other technological competencies
  • Experience in implementing Workflow applications, Collections application,  System integration, big data solutions
  • Experian product knowledge preferred
  • Strong team player and performance driven individual
  • Initiative and ability to demonstrate a pro-active approach to tasks.
  • Used to work under tight time pressure, great sense of priority management
  • Excellent time-management skills

  • Studious problem analysis skills
