Working in the Service Design Team in EITS and reporting to the Head of Product Service Design the role of the Service Designer is to lead and deliver the service design and service model development for project change. The role entails creating high quality and robust service models, support processes and documentation that provide the best experience for our clients and customers. The role also involves being involved with strategic and transformational projects and supporting the Head of Product Service Design with team administration and reporting.


This role is a 12 month Fixed Term Contract to cover maternity leave and could be based in Nottingham or Southport.


Key responsibilities:


  • Be accountable for collating all service requirements and service design deliverables associated with allocated project activity.

  • Lead on the development, costing and agreement of all service support elements and processes that form part of the service design.

  • Support the smooth transition of project change in to live service and support

  • Work with other Experian business units and subject matter experts to develop and agree the service design.

  • Provide individual and Team MI and reporting to Head of Product Service Design and Senior Management.


  • A good general understanding of Experian Service functions and landscape, i.e. Service Desk, Application Support, Incident, Problem and Change Management and Service Management. 
  • The ability to build relationships with key stakeholders to obtain relevant information to produce and gain approval of costed support models, diagrams and documentation.
  • Good negotiating skills and an ability to influence at a peer and senior level.

  • A general understanding of the Product Lifecycle and Demand function and processes.

  • A general understanding of ITIL principles and practices.

  • Good communication and inter personnel skills.

An In-depth knowledge of Service Design processes and principles is not essential as these can be taught and learnt.
