Purpose of Role
 

In the Professional Services Organisation within Experian, we implement lasting business change for our clients to help them realise opportunities and growth.

 

The consultant is responsible for:

 
  • Business requirement gathering and at the same time, solving complex business problems into simplified workable solutions in the manner of; 1) Requirement gathering & Analysis, 2) Solution designing into functional specification, 3) support or lead the build/test team.

  • Supporting to build relationships with existing or prospective clients, to facilitate effective ongoing sales and delivery activities

  • Working sometime with very tight schedule or deadline so time management skill is essential

  • Understanding financial sector industry trends and market specific trend as well in order to guide clients with Experian’s consulting community into the right direction with clear value proposition

  • Adhering to consultation practices and process strictly to derive the immediate values to clients

  • Demonstrating a sharp focus with extra miles to hit the high quality the team can be proud of

  • Running multiple projects whenever possible to accelerate fiscal values together with the team

  • Quick learning skill to understand Experian product’s functional components and feasibility in order to deliver functional requirement for Experian solution implementation

  • Travelling across South East Asia if project happens in SEA countries,


The project portfolio includes projects form large, multi-year multi $m programmes to smaller discrete projects for Tier 2 & 3 clients. The consultant will be critical in building effective implementation environment with these clients, supporting the growth in new business from these clients, and defining the delivered solutions to these clients.



CANDIDATE PROFILE
 

The successful candidate will have up to 5 or more years’ experience in either a banking or professional consulting services environment.  They will possess solid knowledge of retail banking processes, to enable them to be able to converse with clients in their own terms.  They will have spent time within a consultancy or professional services environment and possess a combination of consultation and solution delivery experience.

 

We are looking for someone who:

 
  • Can form effective relationships with clients from analyst to head level of department within our client organisations

  • Has extensive experience in the banking industry

    • Can identify and discuss banking processes with the client in their own terms, and be perceived by the client as a trusted advisor

    • Can  generate demand within client organisations; either through proactive/reactive consultation activities,  or identifying opportunities within project deliveries

    • Can work  with sales teams to convert opportunities into sales

  • Has extensive consultative experience in:

    • Identifying business needs,  translating into functional needs, and constantly seeking opportunities for improvement,

    • Supporting the project team to ensure banking processes and software solutions achieve a quality outcome

    • Overseeing the solution build/test process to ensure that client business goals are met through lasting change.

    • Support clients in transforming their business practices with seniors.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities
 
Analysis and Consulting with consulting person:
  • Identify business requirement and targeted outcomes for any given delivery.

  • Own the quality of the design within a project context i.e. ensure that the processes and solutions designed achieve the business objectives and goals for client organisations

  • Business process Optimisation and business strategy of the industry best practices should be occurring.

  • Constantly define and refine the approaches to delivering best consulting services

  • Leverage relationships to take accountability to identify, escalate and resolve issues and drive continuous improvement in portfolio performance with seniors

  • Continuously improve on the implementation of industry best practice in business process and solution design


Knowledge, Experience and Qualifications

 
Experience
  • 5+ years of experience in a either or both of:
    • A Professional Services environment delivering client facing projects

    • A Professional Services environment leading pre-sales engagements

    • A retail banking environment covering risk management, product management, or CRM

  • Has solid experience leading or participating in pre-sales engagements for banking clients

  • Has led business process and/or software design for software delivery projects to banking clients.

  • Has extensive knowledge and is articulate in retail banking concepts

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Post Graduate qualification
  • Strong communication skills – professional proficiency in writing reports, functional specification and presentation

  • Innovative and inquisitive mind, focused on addressing and solving issues on hand holistically with details

  • Strong interpersonal skills and focus on customer satisfaction
  • Strong collaboration and teamwork – know how to lead with full accountability and be part of the team with full motivation

  • Knows how to enjoy cultural differences and changes occurring in the team and project

  • Computer language skill isn’t required but Pseudo code driven analysis is required

  • Professional MS Office Suit skill is must
  • Fluent oral and written English skill is must
