Senior Director - Product Manager – Clearinghouses – will be responsible for product management functions related to the ongoing development of the strategic roadmap for the Experian Health front end and back end clearinghouses.   This position will be responsible for setting the direction, product positioning, future roadmap and prioritization in line with market input and emerging opportunities and advancements.  Validation from key buyer and user personas is critical to ensuring effective product roadmap development and prioritization.   In addition, the Product Manager will ensure that the EH Clearinghouses solve current and future market problems, meet customer requirements, and new market opportunities.  The Product Manager will actively collaborate with internal cross functional teams including product management, development, client services, implementation, marketing and sales to develop new and innovative solutions to grow revenue.  The Product Manager should be an industry thought leader in the product subject area.

  • Drives the implementation of new products and major product enhancements. Develops plans, secures resources and coordinates activities across multiple functional areas to ensure alignment on Clearinghouse strategy and roadmap.

  • Remains aware of internal company environment, competitive environment and market trends and developments within the industry.

  • Develops plans for products introduction and ongoing market growth to ensure EH clearinghouses are aligned with market demands and opportunities.

  • Maintain market knowledge and input into product value, and future roadmap through regular on-site and remote discussions with customers (internal and external) (target buyers and users) to validate understanding of market problems, observe users engaging the product in business context, and gain intelligence to maximize opportunities to create value for customers and ensure ongoing relevance of product. 

  • Ensure scalability of product through regular engagement with internal implementation and support teams to evaluate administrative tools and resources necessary for efficient staffing and effective self-service capabilities. Ensure complete understanding of the customer perspective and direct client interaction; ensure ease of doing business.

  • Clearly define customer problems, personas, market context, use cases and prioritization based on market input. Leverage knowledge and research to develop product roadmap and strategy for future growth of product(s).

  • Work closely with Technical Product Owner to ensure product roadmap is clear and all necessary market input is provided to define development resources needed to deliver. 

  • Articulates and documents best practice within the market.

  • Develop and execute marketing plan, collaborating with all key stakeholders spanning the business. Articulate product positioning and value proposition, target market, decision markers, product positioning (internal and external), and overall product benefits.

  • Provides market and product expertise to empower the sales organization to sell the value of product based on return on investment and value story.  

  • Establish and maintain pricing strategy in relation to market value and adjacent product bundling and discounting options.

  • Provide sales and marketing empowerment with product collateral, communication updates, ongoing sales training, competitive positioning documents, and other relevant materials. Manages sales training activities and ensures that tools are available to support sales personnel.

  • Establishes and monitors qualitative and quantitative benchmarks to measure and evaluate product goal achievement.

  • Drives ongoing product improvements and enhancements including collaborating with Marketing on product launch / re-launch, coordinating necessary activities, and developing content.

  • Work closely with legal and compliance to establish the necessary product documentation, contract language and thoroughly reviews before delivering a new product/capability to market.

  • Ability to stay current on relevant market activities / trends, the competitive environment, emerging solutions and technologies which are relevant / impact the product area and identifies and communicates challenges / partnership opportunities to manager.

  • Brings commercial expertise, sound business judgment and draws on external sources to prioritize and help reshape the product vision and road map.

  • Other duties as required

     



  • In-depth knowledge and experience of standard HIPAA and emerging clearinghouse transaction types and methods; including understanding of both Provider and Payer (health insurance carrier) operational practices and needs.

  • Revenue Cycle Management

  • Health care marketplace (provider, payer, clearinghouse ecosystem)

  • Excellent communication skills (listening, presenting, documentation)

  • Strong interpersonal skills.  Must be able to interact with various prospects and internal staff, including Director and VP level and internal departments (Sales, Marketing, Customer Support)

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deliverables simultaneously

  • Ability to work both independently and as a team member in a fast-paced environment. 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in business administration, information technology, or related field required.  MBA, a plus

  • Deep knowledge of healthcare clearinghouse transaction types and connectivity methods.

  • Well-connected within the industry, including payers, standard setting organizations, providers, and vendors.

  • Experience working with new technologies and products.

  • Experience in the healthcare industry required.

  • Experience working in client facing role(s)

  • Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

  • Willingness to travel (up to 50%)

  • In-depth knowledge and experience of healthcare revenue cycle management

  • Prior project and/or product management experience

  • Effectively leads projects and influences people to achieve department/company goals 

  • Self-motivated / goal-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills 

  • Additional skills preferred but not required

    • Familiar with Pragmatic Marketing framework for product management

    • Strong knowledge of the requirements documentation process from design to commercial release

    • Demonstrated ability to turn complex concepts into understandable documentation, presentations, and training materials.

    • Experience developing user-friendly, customer-facing material for a variety of audiences and learners

    • Stays abreast of industry trends and conceptualizes impact on Experian Health product suite and its supporting analytics
