This is a great opportunity for the right person to join a dynamic analytics team within our Consumer Services business. This role sits within our e-Commerce team which is responsible for the optimisation and performance of our Experian.co.uk real estate, including all consumer-facing pages and the logged in environment for our Free product. This is an exciting and challenging role where you will be required to use analytics and insights to drive the e-Commerce strategy, ensuring Experian is maximising customer engagement and monetisation across all touchpoints of the user journey.  It will expose you to leading technologies and infrastructure and give you the opportunity to improve your skills in big data, data science and business intelligence.  You will be responsible for creating actionable insights to support our e-Commerce business, helping them to drive consumer engagement and revenue growth.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
As a member of the team you will:

  • Work closely with the e-Commerce team to create insights to support feature development and commercial initiatives.
  • Create and own regular business reports and dashboards using tools such as Microstrategy and Google Data Studio.
  • Provide in depth analysis on product usage, customer engagement, customer behaviours and revenues generated.
  • Provide insight on website performance, funnels, customer journeys and online behaviours to identify areas of high revenue opportunity.
  • Develop predictive models to drive engagement campaigns and marketing strategies.
  • Generate insights from A/B, multivariate and personalisation tests to inform further optimisation and maximise revenue across the Experian real estate.
  • Provide guidance on testing strategy including optimal test and control group sizing to generate statistically significant results in the shortest time possible.
  • Explore and identify optimal customer segments for behavioural targeting and personalisation testing
  • Support the wider Analytics community within Experian as and when required, particularly knowledge sharing and collaboration with other analytical teams.
  • Attend, support and contribute to stakeholder meetings, including presenting results, conclusions and recommendations in both written and verbal form.
  • Ensure the quality and accuracy of your own work, particularly test insights and front-end performance metrics.

Knowledge & Experience
You will probably have a first degree and possibly a higher degree in a subject with significant mathematical or computing and data analysis content. This could be in mathematics, the physical sciences, computer science, social sciences, data science, economics or statistics. 
You will also have:
  • Curiosity and a knack for problem solving.
  • The ability to act on your own initiative to drive analyses to an actionable conclusion.
  • Worked in a consumer facing e-commerce business. 
  • Knowledge of and experience in experimentation using techniques such as A/B testing
  • Strong data analysis skills.
  • Good knowledge of mathematical modelling, statistical inference and machine learning.
  • Significant experience of one or more of SQL, R or Python.
  • Had some exposure to web analytics (using tools such as Google Analytics) and mobile app analytics (using tools such as MixPanel).
  • Experience with BI/data visualisation tools (Microstrategy, Tableau, etc).
  • Excellent communication skills to get your message across to technical and non-technical audiences in speech, in writing and in formal presentations.
