Still with me? If we sound like the type of organisation you might like to work for, we currently have an opportunity for a Risk Manager to join our team based in Nottingham.
 
The purpose of this role is to identify and manage current and potential risks in “the business” as part of the 1LoD Risk team.  The role will focus on a broad spectrum of risks; regulatory, compliance, conduct, operational, Info Sec, Fraud etc.
The role holder will also need to act as a point of contact for business areas (including the potential for multiple business areas) to ensure an integrated view of risk frameworks and systems is maintained and developed whilst proactively endorsing and supporting risk management knowledge sharing.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Working with the Business to Identify current and potential risks.  Establish and maintain a risk register/RCSA.
  • Chair and lead scheduled Business Area RMG Meetings with clear and focused agenda.
  • Understanding and supporting the business appetite for risk.
  • Establishing and supporting an effective integrated risk and controls framework.
  • Establishing and supporting the risk monitoring programme, focused on validating and verifying key controls, thereby providing assurance to the business.
  • Create procedures and control assessments in response to identified risks.
  • Establish and maintain effective use of risk management tools and systems.
  • Risk reporting and analysis, including reporting used by the Risk Management Committees.
  • Interfacing into the global risk teams.
  • Monitoring compliance with appropriate company Policies, Standards and Procedures.
  • Ensuring adequate support is in place for Internal Audits and Regulatory Exams.
  • Supporting on Loss Events and Root Cause Analysis.
  • Champion a culture where the fair treatment of customers is at the heart of the Experian business.  Ensure that by leading by example, you adhere to all regulatory requirements and apply appropriate controls in the interests of customers.  Through the adoption of a top down approach, demonstrate a culture where all of our people understand their regulatory obligations, including what the fair treatment of customer’s means to them and our organization.
Qualifications
 
An industry recognized qualification such Institute of Risk Management Certificate/Diploma is preferred.
Experience:
  • 2+ years related work experience
  • Ability and desire to review and improve the operational risk framework, including governance, controls and insight to ensure continuous improvement.
  • Ability to manage senior stakeholder expectation whilst driving change and operating with a commercial focus by leveraging quantitative and qualitative skills.
  • Willing to challenge when appropriate and assertively drive activity within the business areas.
  • Process driven with good attention to detail and strong communication skills (written and oral).
