Experian is looking to hire a team-oriented attorney with 3 to 7 years of relevant experience for an in-house counsel position. This attorney will provide legal support to Experian’s North American marketing and automotive services businesses headquartered in Schaumburg, Illinois.

The successful candidate will report to Experian’s lead attorney for the marketing and automotive services businesses and broadly support he day-to-day legal matters for those businesses. The candidate’s practice will focus on transactional matters, including drafting and negotiating strategic alliance agreements, drafting standard commercial form agreements, participating in risk assessment and regulatory reviews for new products, and maintaining a strong working knowledge of data privacy issues. Specific experience in a transactional and/or regulatory practice is required, with digital marketing industry experience a major plus, but more importantly the successful candidate will demonstrate through prior experience an ability to learn and adapt to the requirements of the role.

The ideal candidate would have the following credentials:

• A minimum of 3-7 years of directly relevant legal experience in a large law firm and/or in-house setting.
• Excellent academic credentials from a top law school.
• Demonstrate the highest standards for thoroughness and diligence in handling legal matters.
• Experience in handling matters relating to digital advertising, data security, and consumer privacy.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision, check her or his ego at the door, and participate as an active member of congenial legal and business teams.
• Ability to understand and quickly process complex business issues, develop practical, problem-solving strategies, and effectively communicate in a positive manner.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment.
• License to practice law in Illinois.
