Learning Specialist (Product Team)

The Learning Specialist (Product Team) is responsible for the design, development and facilitation of product training programs for the Experian Decision Analytics (DA) sales team. This role will partner with Product Managers and Sales Leaders under the oversight of the Curriculum Development Manager to assess training needs, establish course learning objectives, and develop and execute appropriate training materials for new and enhanced product rollouts. The Learning Specialist will then deliver the program as designed.


To succeed in this role, you must be a proactive, self-starter who can efficiently plan, manage and complete multiple projects simultaneously.  You must enjoy working in a fast-paced culture with an ability to work independently (60%) and collaboratively with others (40%) to get the job done. You must have strong relationship building skills, communication skills, and possess an ability to be creative while being attentive to details and following detailed project plans through to completion.

  • Partners closely with Product Managers and Sales Leaders to identify, prioritize, and implement DA related initiatives that improve business performance
  • Determines appropriate training plan to meet required business objectives for products across Decision Analytics (DA)
  • Designs product training content and related materials in alignment with Experian’s existing sales processes, core sales methodologies and brand standards
  • Includes feedback/testing in the course design process to evaluate participants learning as well as the effectiveness of all DA product training programs as appropriate
  • Monitors existing programs and makes updates to existing materials to ensure relevance and accuracy
  • Partners with DA Sales Leadership to supports the onboarding of newly hired DA sales professionals

Education, Experience, Knowledge, and Skills
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience in instructional design with extensive knowledge of adult learning principles. Bachelor's Degree in a related discipline or equivalent experience required.
  • Ability to conduct needs assessment conversations with Sales Leaders to gain understanding of training needs and business objectives.
  • Experience creating engaging training course content using a combination of learning approaches and modalities (videos, eLearnings, mobile training, assessments, and experiential activities).
  • Proficiency with a variety of e-Learning platforms, authoring applications and learning management systems (LMS) required.  Experience in the following (or equivalent) programs necessary:  WebEx, Articulate, Camtasia, Publisher and Adobe Illustrator.
  • Experience facilitating training webinars via a variety of platforms (Webex, Skype)

  • Experience managing classroom-based training events a plus (preferably for a sales audience).

  • Experience in creating, administering and managing training events within an LMS

  • Strong analytical, project management skills. Must be able to follow set procedures with a strong attention to details.
  • Exemplary written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to quickly form relationships across departments and work cross functionally with multiple stakeholders.
  • Proactive, self-starter who must be able to work both independently (60%) and collaboratively with team members (40%)
  • Strong knowledge of financial services/lending industry/sales preferred.
  • Expert in using Microsoft applications: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
