Experian Data Quality (EDQ) is recruiting! We’re looking for a Lead Test Engineer to join our London office.

The purpose of your role:

This is an exciting career opportunity to lead a team of skilled test engineers responsible for a key strategic Experian product. You will be working alongside product engineering teams to deliver our next generation of data quality products. As well as providing guidance to your team, you will be heavily involved in determining the overall test approach and will need to be hands-on, utilising your extensive experience of defining test and automation strategies to drive quality excellence with the right level of Agility and pragmatism.


Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

  • Work with a range of stakeholders to establish and achieve quality goals.
  • Define and implement effective product test strategies and release test plans.
  • Collaborate with product design and architecture teams to ensure quality and testability are built in throughout the development lifecycle.
  • As a subject matter expert, perform exploratory testing where required.
  • Coordinate efforts to advance our quality focussed engineering practises.
  • Work as part of the QA management team to ensure departmental skills evolve to meet the changing requirements of the business.
  • Take responsibility for strategic projects to improve the effectiveness of the Global Technology group.
  • Full line management responsibility for a team of senior test engineers.
  • Help team members identify opportunities for career growth and implement challenging personal development plans.


What we’re looking for:

We’re looking for an experienced Lead Test Engineer that has a proven track record of leading and improving teams of testers to deliver high quality software solutions in a collaborate environment.  The role is very much hands-on, and you will need to be technology focussed with a strong desire to be on the front line contributing to testing activities.  You should also be passionate delivering high quality software and skilful at collaborating with stakeholders to achieve this.

Additionally, we’re interested in:

  • Experience of leading both functional and non-functional testing activities.
  • Experience of leading, coaching and mentoring team members to successful performance.
  • Track record of helping software engineering teams become more effective through improvement of engineering practices.
  • Keen attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills, coupled with an enquiring mind and the ability to learn quickly.
  • Ability to drive innovation and change across teams through collaborative working and effective influencing skills.

Experience with the below would also help you in the role but are not essential:

  • Testing data quality or data management applications
  • Agile and Continuous Delivery practices.
  • Working with industry standard test tools and test automation tools.
