Experian are currently looking to expand the UK&I Global Sourcing team by appointing an IT Procurement Manager to be based in Nottingham. Our Global Sourcing is comprised of 75 team members located across UK&I, USA, EMEA, Asia Pacific and Latin America and manages in excess of $1.5bn spend. 

The UK&I team consists of 14 members, based in Nottingham, specialising in specific categories including; IT, data, professional services, HR and facilities. 

Reporting to the Regional Head, the IT Procurement Manager will be working at Experian’s European Data Centre on projects across several categories within IT and Telecoms including software, hardware and services most likely developing a specialism with a dedicated portfolio in the future.

 

Key Responsibilities include: 

  • Negotiate and challenge vendors
  • Take a lead on managing complex negotiations worth up to multi- million pounds
  • Work closely with legal to execute risk appropriate contracts on behalf of Experian
  • Raise Purchase Orders to commit Experian to any external spend
  • Continually communicate effectively and influence proactively our internal clients
  • Work closely in project teams that manage Experian’s complex supply chain
  • Manage RfP, e-auctions and contract renewals 
  • Analyse bids, markets and spend  
  • Support and help develop the wider Procurement function

    The incumbent will be targeted on cost efficiencies, internal client satisfaction, sound contracts and proactive portfolio management.   

     

 

 

 

 

 
















The successful candidate will demonstrate the following;

  • Confident and experienced negotiator with demonstrated experience of handling suppliers up to senior levels
  • Proven track record of having engaged with and influenced internal stakeholders including to senior level
  • Evidence of having managed contracts ranging from £100k-£10m
  • Comfortable with analysis on pricing, bids and business cases
  • Experience and knowledge of English contract law would be good  flexible and agile to respond to changing to business needs
  • Strong commercial acumen
  • Evidence of having led and delivered
  • Evidence of having made great cost savings and challenged the status quo
  • Helpful but not essential to have worked within a complex, matrix organisation
  • Ability to work autonomously; sound judgement and swift decision making – often only with partial information and little time
  • Excellent organisation skills and operates efficiently
  • Maturity and experience to manage a heavy work load and pressure at times
  • Strong interpersonal skills; the ability to adapt to various scenarios - direct at times but diplomatic at others, influencer, communicator, relationship builder
  • Solid IT buying experience, ideally with Enterprise sized organization or demonstrated experience in an SME environment
  • Demonstrates resilience / robustness
