FP&A Accountant
We have a fantastic opportunity to join our UK&I FP&A team. It is a high-profile role with Exec level exposure (that includes the UK&I CFO and UK&I CEO). The UK&I FP&A team works closely with the finance teams supporting Experian’s Product Capability Units (PCU) and central cost functions, to provide: concise, insightful analysis to aid the UK Exec’s effective management of the business.
The team has a dual role of instigating process efficiency, consistency and improvement across UK&I finance, as well as analysing, understanding and helping to drive the growth of the business through insightful Management Information and KPIs.
The successful candidate will work at the centre of the UK&I finance team, gain an understanding of the key financial drivers in each of our PCUs and central cost functions and produce analysis to be used at an Exec level, to directly influence the direction of the business.
The successful candidate will be able to embrace change, technically minded and have a proven track record of operating in complex matrix organisation.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Ensure Experian finance system capabilities are being leveraged to optimise reporting efficiency
  • Ensure excellent and consistent data quality in the financial systems
  • Support the Monthly Forecast, Month End and annual budget processes:
    1. drive continuous improvement
    2. issue clear and concise instructions / timelines and track performance against them
    3. deliver outputs in accordance with UK&I internal review and Group deadlines
    4. appropriate levels of review are in place
    5. output and presentation packs are insightful, relevant and error free
  • Ensure good understanding of the PCUs/Shared Operations/COE/Enabling Functions and their respective recharge structures to enable insightful commentary
  • Track and monitor ongoing business performance, trends and other strategic initiatives, highlighting issues and making recommendations to enhance performance as appropriate
  • Understand and participate in performance management process
  • Actively contribute to a culture where the fair treatment of customers is at the heart of the Experian business.  Take personal responsibility to ensure that you adhere to all regulatory requirements and apply appropriate controls in the interests of our customers.


Qualified CIMA, ACCA or equivalent
Previous experience of working in a fast-paced finance function is essential; with a tangible track record of adaptability and proactivity in the face of short notice high priority deadlines & deliverables, and improving the efficiency, accuracy and / or insight provided by finance processes.
Successful applicant will need to effectively process, analyse and present large quantities of financial data, therefore the following are essential requirements:
  • strong Excel (pivots, Boolean operators, lookup/match functions)
  • experience working with Power Point
  • ability to extract key messages from unstructured data
  • analytical, problem solving mind set
  • eye for detail
Previous experience working with financial reporting systems (specifically Hyperion) would be beneficial but is not essential, as in role training will be provided.
The successful candidate will need to demonstrate that they have the confidence and ability to communicate effectively (verbally and in writing) with a wide range of senior finance and non-finance stakeholders.
