Director of Quantitative Analytics

Experian is looking for a Director of Quantitative Analytics with financial services experience, programming skills and Applied Machine Learning expertise to join their ISG Quantitative Analytics group. In this role you will lead a team responsible for the advancement of Experian Ascend, Experian’s latest industry disrupting innovation. This position will require you to design and collaborate with Product Leaders, Business Units and members across the ISG organization to deliver new product innovations. You are required to ensure best practices in advanced programming and analytical skills are leveraged to solve a variety of complex business problems across multiple industries and through all phases of the consumer credit lifecycle (prospecting, acquisition, portfolio management, and collections). Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead teams in a collaborative effort involving Engineering and the Quantitative Analytics experts in the design and implementation of Machine Learning and AI application on a true big data platform.
  • Architect ML and AI solutions and lead the agile management of projects to bring whiteboarding to reality.
  • Mentor Machine Learning Scientists in the best practices of data science and machine learning to ensure the successful career growth or your fellow Experian teammates.
  • Lead efforts in the development of automation into the Experian process allowing for Scientists and Engineers to focus their attention to thought provoking innovative initiatives rather than redundant tasks.
  • Research and integrate new data assets from disparate resources into Experian’s ML and AI platform.
  • Assess analytic tools developed internally and externally for their fit and value add to the ISG Team and Experian as a whole.
  • Partner with Business Unit Leaders, Sales Engineers, and Product managers to bring new innovated solutions to market that provide significant impact to Experian’s broad customer base.
  • Bottom Line - Drive innovation in technology at Experian.

  • Masters or PhD required, preferably in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science or related field.
  • Minimum of 12 years related experience, preferably in Financial Services.
  • Strong knowledge of statistical analysis software / data analysis experience including data manipulation; preferably Python and R.
  • API development a plus.
  • Experience in an Agile Project Management framework is a must; scrum master experience is a plus.
  • Proven track record for leading and executing complex modeling/machine learning projects and new product development from concept to final delivery.
  • Proven track record in applying traditional statistical methodology and learning algorithms including but not limited to; Neural Networks, Clustering, SVM, and Gradient Boosting in a Big Data Environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate ideas and analysis results effectively both verbally and in writing to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Excellent communication, organization, interpersonal and presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple simultaneous projects of significant complexity.
