The Data Center Operations Analyst will be responsible for monitoring computer operations systems to ensure data processing production meets business unit needs. Maintains inventory, and operations procedures, implements change control, and installs hardware /software to maintain production requirements. Resolves systems software and hardware problems, and provides technical guidance on maintaining and running effective data center operations.

Main Responsibilities:

1. Monitors data center operations to ensure sufficient resources are available to meet demand.

2. Identifies the specific source of failing software and hardware components and resolves technical problems. Troubleshoots all anomalies within specialized area of expertise. Works with internal groups and vendors to address problems with system software and hardware components.

3. Maintains documentation on system issues and solutions.

4. Assists other technical systems areas in the supporting data center operations on an as needed basis

5. Implements staged changes to systems.

6. Analyzes the results of monitoring the operating systems and recommends changes to improve processing and utilization.

7. Develops and documents operations processes.

8. Develops and applies training processes to improve the performance and ability of lesser-experienced command center staff. Monitors staff skill levels and validates training methods.
Education and Experience Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
• Minimum of 5 years related experience
• Strong systems programming and systems administration skills in several of the following: UNIX, z/OS, CICS, Oracle, VTAM, TCP/IP, DB2, Router, Frame Relay, OPS/MVS, TWC/OPC, MainView, MQ and DNS
• Strong computer operations skills
• Strong knowledge of systems tools and utilities
• Strong problem solving and analytical skills
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Strong project management skills
