We are seeking a driven Business Analyst to work with our Experian Health Innovation team through a growth phase. This position will report to the Director of Innovation and will be responsible for a broad range of activities to support the goal of enhancing Experian Health’s innovation capability, product portfolio, and strategic focus, playing an important role in the businesses’ future direction and ultimate success.


The Business Analyst will focus on delivering Innovation, from developing ideas to validating innovations with key (internal or external) customers. This position will complete tactical activities, provide support, and contribute to strategic direction where needed. Examples of innovation activities include:

  • Partner with the Voice of the Customer/Insights team to conduct exploratory market research and support on validation exercises as needed to gather external evidence of market opportunities 
  • Executing and refining an agile playbook of tactical innovation processes to evaluate and test new concepts to support the business in various strategic and functional innovation initiatives 
  • Working with cross-functional teams of (internal and external) User Experience (UX) experts, product developers, and Business Analysts (BA) to: 
    • Participate in innovation projects and develop initial concepts/product solutions 
    • Conduct rapid validation activities (concept design sprints, journey mapping, prototype development, client/consumer validation, etc.) to confirm feasibility and fit of concepts that will deliver in strategic growth areas for the business 
  • Building comprehensive business cases for recommended innovations, with compelling evidence-based ROI and strategic value to the business 
  • Working closely with external and/or internal New Product Development teams to build selected concepts into minimum viable product (MVP) pilots through an iterative pilot process with existing/new clients and end users to demonstrate evidence of market adoption 
  • Providing overall project assessment and management of innovation projects in a timely and cost-effective manner; defining and documenting project details 
  • Participating in discussions with product management leadership to migrate successful candidates into the business, with an accepted plan and roadmap for scaling the solution 
  • Participating in partnerships with New Product Development, Product Strategy and Product Management to track Product Key Performance Indicators to measure new product success 
  • Establishing critical innovation metrics to measure Innovation department performance 
  • Supporting the development of an internal innovation program to foster a grassroots culture of innovation 
  • Be an internal and external champion of innovation for the Experian Health business


Education Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or similar field of study required. Masters of Business Administration a plus 
  • Project management certification: in PMP, Scrum and other project management principles a plus 

Industry Experience

  • 3-5 years or more of business analytics work, including business case development, market assessment, market validation, competitive intelligence, and financial modeling 
  • 3-5 years or more of project management work, examples include: experience in Waterfall, Agile, Kanban, etc. Experience delivering results in a timely, cost-effective process demonstrating process optimization and measurable outputs that meet or exceed business goals. 
  • 3-5 years of experience working with cross-functional teams and subject matter experts (co-located and/or virtual) is required 
  • Experience in innovation strategy and execution preferred, examples include: Experience in design and facilitation of strategic domain identification, innovation events, design sprint facilitation, client co-development discussions, consumer testing, and pilot program design 
  • Experience in the healthcare industry is a plus

Knowledge and Skills

  • Innovation: Basic grasp of innovation processes, examples include: Design thinking, journey mapping, product development and product management best practices. 
  • Business Acumen: Market- and data-based decision maker. Critical thinker; removing obstacles and driving results; using sound judgment to accurately analyze information and make solid recommendations; balance strategic direction and guidance with tactical detail and expertise. Able to lead with influence without relying on authority 
  • Ability to: align stakeholders, problem solve to support organizational objectives; multitask; work with little formal guidelines and direction; make decisions using the appropriate level of information; provide appropriate guidance to others; balance external and internal requirements 
  • Project Management: Effectively manage innovation projects, meet Key Performance Indicators and deliver exceptional results on time 
  • Professionalism: Professional, positive, and outgoing demeanor. An entrepreneurial spirit paired with excellent interpersonal and stakeholder management skills 
  • Travel may be required based upon project specific requirements (estimated 10-15%).
